Word-class solutions in sustainable energy

Our passion for doing business, product development and corporate acquisitions have led to a signifcant expansion for the last 25 years.

One of NIBE Group's companies, NIBE AB, will be divided into two separate entities. Starting October 1, 2024, NIBE and Contura will become two distinct companies, named NIBE AB and Contura AB, both headquartered in Markaryd, Sweden.

Gerteric Lindquist is awarded IVA's Gold Medal in 2024

The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) has decided to award NIBE's long-standing CEO, Gerteric Lindquist, the IVA's Gold Medal 2024 for outstanding contributions in business. Since 1921, the gold medal has been awarded annually to people who, through exceptional deeds, have made considerable contributions in technology, economics, business and society.

- I am very honored about IVA's appointment, Gerteric Lindquist comments on the award. At the same time, it provides an opportunity to, once again, point out how important it is with genuine and well-founded team work when it comes to creating successful companies and businesses. I have been fortunate to work with a great group of people at NIBE who, with their professionalism, dedicated energy and passion, have developed our company to what it is today.

IVA's medal jury reads:
"NIBE's CEO Gerteric Lindquist is awarded the gold medal for his unique contribution in developing the company NIBE over 40 years from a small regional company in Småland to become a world-leading company in the field of heat pumps. Gerteric Lindquist's efforts as a business leader and business developer belong to one of the unique business leadership efforts during the last 40 years. He has combined powerful leadership with great business acumen.”

The medal will be presented by His Majesty the King in connection with a ceremony at Stockholm City Hall on 25 October.

Two rewarding days with German journalists visiting us at NIBE in Markaryd, together with our German subsidiary NIBE Systemtechnik GMBH. 

The German journalist group got a good insight into our investment in manufacturing heat pumps in Markaryd as well as our research and development. Very good discussions regarding sustainable and climate-friendly heat supply of buildings in Germany where NIBE products are part of the solution. The two days ended with a study visit to Medicon Village in Lund where the E.ON Ectogrid project was shown, equipped with NIBE heat pumps.

Today we present NIBE Group's interim report for the first half year.

It has been a period characterized by major changes.

The action program is being implemented as a result of major destocking in the distribution chain, continuing high interest rates and historically low housing production – at the same time, we expect a gradual improvement in demand in all three business areas in the second half of the year.

NIBE was the most well-attended Annual General Meeting in Sweden 2024,
 
Many companies suffer from a constantly reduced interest in attendance at the companies' physical Annual General Meetings. In this context, we are happy that NIBE's shareholders still appreciate our AGM and are happy to come to Markaryd to follow this “graduation day” for the company and its board. With 1,000 shareholders present, the NIBE AGM was the most well-attended AGM in Sweden 2024.

- It's always a special atmosphere when we hold our annual general meeting, says Gerteric Lindqvist, the company's long-standing president and CEO.
The AGM is like a graduation day for both the board and the company's management. Then it is of course extra gratifying that so many of our 178,483 (May 2024) shareholders choose to spend that graduation day with us, concludes Gerteric.

NIBE's Annual General Meeting is always more than just the traditional annual meeting formalities. Before the meeting starts, participants are invited to our showrooms for a look at the latest products from all three Business Areas and have a coffee. This year they could also have a glimpse at the new Visitor Center. Busses took the participants around Markaryd and finally to the venue for the meeting, one of our new factories about to be inaugurated. There a solid and profound presentation by our CEO, Gerteric Lindquist, contributed to a good picture of the year's development. Performances from local music classes as well as two significant scholarships for employees who excelled during the year were also part of the program. Last but not least, the evening ended with a common dinner for all participants, all in all some 1000 shareholders.
