The team have had the pleasure of attending some insightful webinars discussing non-alcoholic trends recently. Here are some of the key takeaways from the latest Distill Ventures and Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association (ANBA) webinars. 🍷 💡 One of the main places people discover non-alcoholic beverages is at speciality beverage stores/shops (45% of buyers discover products here). These independent businesses play a huge role in brand storytelling and are one of the most impactful touchpoints for new consumers. 💡Drinking socialisation is changing, people are drinking slower over longer periods of time, or switching between low, no and full-strength alcohol options. 💡The top deciding factors for consumers purchasing non-alcoholic options are flavour, availability, value and versatility. Consumers want to experience different options that they can enjoy on various occasions. 💡Two in three 18-24 year olds are concerned about the impact of drinking on their health and are looking to moderate their alcohol consumption. 💡Abstinence is not the trend, moderation is. Whilst events like Dry January and Sober October are supporting factors for the sober curious movement, overall moderation is the direction consumers are going in. 💡 93% of people who buy non-alcoholic beverages also buy alcohol (NIQ) What are your thoughts on current non-alcoholic trends? Yes, Chef! I’ve always loved the Chef scene. For as long as I can remember. Of course now, Chefs are achingly “fashionable” - Grazia calls them “the new superstars.” With my experience in the Hospitality industry behind the scenes and with my Le Cordon Bleu Paris training, I have always been fully aware of the sheer graft and extreme passion that brings about such incredible mind-blowing results on the plate. …Not to mention the huge sacrifices Chefs are forced to make to get to the top of an industry that never sleeps. Great food, for me, like great wine, is Art. My favourite part of my founder journey now is when I’m in the bar or kitchen “backstage” with the Hospitality teams. Looking for a spooky cocktail to enjoy this evening? Try our Noughty spin on the Devil's Margarita! 😈 Ingredients 1.5oz/50ml of Noughty Rouge 1.5oz/50ml Tequila alternative Half a lime (squeezed) 0.5oz/20ml Agave or sugar syrup Optional Spice mix or salt (for the glass rim) Method Add the Tequila alternative, juice of half a lime and Agave (or sugar syrup) to a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake vigorously until the shaker feels ice cold to touch and pour into your glass. Gently pour 1.5oz/50ml of Noughty Rouge over a spoon just above the surface of the cocktail so it slowly settles on the surface. This should create a beautiful split-colour effect.
