BREAKING: The price of a nursing home staffing mandate is 60% higher than projected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and will require 100,000 more workers, a CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) analysis conducted in conjunction with AHCA/NCAL finds.

A new CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) analysis finds the federal staffing mandate would require hiring an estimated 102,154 additional full-time employees. The proposed mandate would also cost nursing homes approximately $6.8 billion/year – higher than CMS's estimate of $4 billion per year. 

“What CLA’s analysis confirms is that this proposed rule is deeply flawed, and the Biden Administration has woefully underestimated the feasibility and cost of this unfunded mandate,” said AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson.
