What a week in #Boston 💥 Building bridges between partners from the #USA and our global Quantum & AI ecosystem was more than exciting.

As a value-add investor we are ramping up to build a new AI Innovation Center that complements our existing quantum activities at QAI Ventures & uptownBasel, I would like to share a few highlights and 4 insights from Boston:

🔵 #Quantum & #AI -> Dario Gil, IBM Global Director of Research, walked us through their strong roadmap on how real AI use cases serve as the launchpad of Quantum adoption in the future. Seeing our portfolio company Phoenix Systems - Florian Noell & Thomas Taroni - playing a critical role in capturing this opportunity is great to see.

🌎 #Geopolitics & #DeepTech -> During my day at MIT and presenting our activities at MIT Murray Lab & MIT Office of Innovation, we deep-dived into geopolitics and the relevance of DeepTech startups to impact the world. Thank you, Fiona Murray (NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), Georgie Skipper, Tim Miano, Dr. Stefan Raff, Constanze Coelsch-Foisner & co. Aligning forces across the US, EU, & Asia will be key to long-term success in investing in Quantum & AI.

🏭 #Corporates & #Startups -> Across industries, but especially in the #Finance sector, corporates start to understand the disruptive risk and upside potential of quantum technologies. Collaborating with #startups can be a key differentiator when moving with speed and expertise. Kudos to our Boston-based friends at Boston Quantum, QuEra Computing Inc., Zapata AI, Atlantic Quantum.

💸 #Public & #Private #Financing -> #Governments are heavily investing in critical infrastructure and support with grants in large funding rounds. However, this year, we will see announcements of larger funding rounds with greater participation from VCs and Corporations as use cases become more tangible. Exciting times to scale impactful innovation.

🚨 What is missing in most well-funded government clusters is the #substance and #talent that is critical to bringing life into these initiatives. With our programs at QAI Ventures, we have proven to unlock value not only for ecosystems like uptownBasel or Quantum City, but are also excited to explore opportunities in the US, SG, KR, JP, and AU. Key to our programs is education on #ethics in culture & diversity.
