The dynamic duo will lead Rothy’s as we chart a more sustainable and stylish future for all. Over the last 10+ years, our visionary founders Roth and Stephen have built a beloved brand with tremendous potential for scale. They'll continue to remain closely involved while focusing on their passions—advising founders and pushing product and sustainable innovation forward. 2024 is going to be an exceptional year—we can feel it!

In anticipation of #NationalRecyclingDay, we made a special appearance at The Meteor's Meet the Moment Summit, hosted by the Brooklyn Museum. Empowered by the inspiring conversation between comedian Ilana Glazer and marine biologist Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson on the transformative power of climate optimism, we encouraged attendees to take a small but impactful step towards environmental protection by calling Governor Hochul of New York to voice their support for the passage of New York's Bigger Better Bottle Bill. Advocating for a bigger, better Bottle Bill is a pivotal initiative for reducing plastic waste and fostering a circular economy, a cause we wholeheartedly support. As firm believers that possibility and joy can effectively combat the paralysis that many of us experience in these urgent climate times, we urge you to take one simple action today to make the world a better place in celebration of National Recycling Day. ♻

Heartbroken to learn of the passing of our friend and activist Ryan Thoreson Carson, who dedicated his life's work to important environmental legislation like New York's Bigger, Better Bottle Bill with his team at NYPIRG. Ryan was a bright light in this world, and in his honor we encourage everyone to participate in a random act of kindness—just like he did every day.

Here at Rothy’s, we’re dedicated to keeping plastic waste out of our oceans. From crafting our bags with ocean-bound marine plastic to cleaning up local beaches with Sea Hugger | 1% For the Planet Member, we’re celebrating World Oceans Day today and every day.

According to Saskia van Gendt, Rothy's Head of Sustainability, bottle bills are one of the most effective tools we have to keep plastic out of landfills. In her recent article in Fast Company, Saskia explains how an increase of just 5¢ to the redemption value of a bottle can keep up to 773M bottles out of landfills and raise statewide recycling rates to 89%.

Four decades later, we think it’s time to give a dime about plastic.
