This segment also operates Caffè Spettacolo, a coffee-bar chain. The company was formerly known as Merkur Holding AG and changed its name to Valora Holding AG in July 1996. From June 12 to 13, Valora Group held its second Valora #Sustainability Summit. The aim of the summit is to strengthen and further expand synergies and collaboration between the various Valora brands in the area of sustainability. This year's summit in Cologne was attended by 30 Valora employees from Switzerland and Germany.
The focus was on discussions in four areas: Energy Efficient Points of Sale, Sustainable Product Range, Sustainable Procurement and Sustainability Communication. On the one hand, we were able to share successes such as the switch to 100% renewable electricity for the entire Valora Group and the introduction of Nutri- and Eco-Score on our own brands. On the other hand, we also addressed common challenges and plans, such as further reducing energy consumption at our points of sale and working with suppliers on human rights due diligence. 
We would like to thank all participants for their commitment and their valuable input. We look forward to working with our brands to consistently make the Valora Group even more sustainable.

Vom 12. bis 13. Juni hat die Valora Group den zweiten Valora Sustainability Summit durchgeführt. Ziel des Summit ist es, die Synergien und Zusammenarbeit zwischen den verschiedenen Valora Brands im Bereich #Nachhaltigkeit zu stärken und weiter auszubauen. Am diesjährigen Summit in Köln nahmen 30 Valora Mitarbeitende aus der Schweiz und Deutschland teil.
Im Mittelpunkt stand der Austausch in vier Bereichen: Energieeffiziente Verkaufsstellen, Nachhaltiges Produktsortiment, Nachhaltige Beschaffung und Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation. Dabei konnten wir einerseits Erfolge teilen wie zum Beispiel die Umstellung auf 100% erneuerbaren Strom für die ganze Valora Gruppe oder die Einführung von Nutri- und Eco-Score auf unseren Eigenmarken. Andererseits bearbeiteten wir auch gemeinsame Herausforderungen und Pläne, wie zum Beispiel die weitere Reduktion des Energieverbrauchs in den Verkaufsstellen und die Zusammenarbeit mit Lieferanten im Bereich der menschenrechtlichen Sorgfaltspflicht. 
Wir danken allen Teilnehmenden für ihr engagiertes Mitmachen und ihre guten Inputs. Wir freuen uns darauf, gemeinsam mit unseren Brands, die Valora Group konsequent noch nachhaltiger aufzustellen.

Consumer demand for fresh food when on the move has increased greatly in recent years. In line with this trend, Valora is opening the first #avec store with an integrated “The Kitchen” concept close to the University of Zurich at Freiestrasse 14 on 31 May. Popular to-go meals will be freshly prepared in an open kitchen from Mondays to Saturdays. The store operates without staff on Sundays and access, shopping and payment work via the avec app. The new outlet is also the first avec store in a residential area. Seven more avec stores based on the new “The Kitchen” concept are scheduled to open by the end of the year.

Die Nachfrage von Konsumentinnen und Konsumenten nach frischem Food für unterwegs ist über die letzten Jahre stark gestiegen. Diesem Trend entsprechend, eröffnet Valora am 31. Mai an der Freiestrasse 14, in unmittelbarer Nähe der Uni Zürich, den ersten #avec Store mit integriertem «The Kitchen»-Konzept. In einer offenen Küche werden von Montag bis Samstag beliebte to-go Gerichte frisch zubereitet. Am Sonntag wird der Store ohne Personal betrieben und Zutritt, Einkauf und Bezahlung erfolgen über die avec App. Gleichzeitig ist der neue Store der erste avec in einem Wohnquartier. Bis Ende Jahr sollen sieben weitere avec Stores nach neuem «The Kitchen»-Konzept folgen.
