One thing I love about my job is that I come across start-ups that exude opportunity for solving the most pressing challenges that the market faces today. There were a host of these bold and audacious companies in season one of the TechArena podcast, and today I'm going to introduce you to the first entry for season two - Voltron Data. CEO Joshua Patterson and his team get IT challenges on data composability and what it really takes to build a data pipeline. Josh's experience at #nvidia points to a deep knowledge on data analytics, and it shows with the Theseus product entry into the market. #hpe  paid attention...they announced Theseus with Voltron for their data lake. Ibis users can now leverage the power of GPUs to speed up their pandas workflows by 10-1000x! 

cudf.pandas (pandas accelerator mode) is a new extension from the RAPIDS team at NVIDIA. By executing on the GPU where possible and on the CPU otherwise, this new mode provides major speedups with zero code changes to existing pandas workflows.

Today on the blog, Nick Becker and Marlene Mhangami share how the Ibis project was able to add a new cuDF backend by using the existing ibis-pandas backend with the cudf.pandas extension. Learn more:
