Meet Aime Vesmes, Product Finance Engineer at Volvo Group and one of the participants in our Engineering Graduate Program. As part of the program, she is currently on a short-term assignment in Greensboro, North Carolina. 
 
“The best thing about being here is seeing the cultural differences between the two offices. And since I am still quite new, I can bridge the different ways of working, taking the best practices from Gothenburg and Greensboro and combining them. It is really rewarding.”

“I've always wanted to work on the so-called good side – to use my skills and experience to make a difference, solve problems and help others. I’ve also always been interested in tech, so cybersecurity was the natural choice for me.  
 
My journey started in the financial sector, and I have been with Volvo now for over six months. My team’s responsibility is to ensure that different stakeholders across the group are compliant but also having effective security controls in place to safeguard sensitive data. 
 
Being a woman in the tech field means that I have witnessed a couple of “boys clubs” where I haven’t felt included. But I have always decided to do my own thing.

Many research throughout the years shows that teams with a high level of diversity, meaning e.g., people with different backgrounds, gender and life experiences, simply generate better ideas and solutions.
