Wärtsilä engines to deliver reliable power for generating facility

Wärtsilä has secured a contract to supply generating sets and auxiliary equipment for Tampa Electric Company's new generating facility in Florida.  The facility, MacDill Power Station, will have a total output of 72 MW and will be delivered in two phases, using Wärtsilä 50SG engines running on natural gas. The first phase is slated for completion by the end of 2024, and the second by the second half of 2025.

Wärtsilä was selected as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor and battery energy storage system (BESS) equipment supplier for Georgia Power's Mossy Branch Battery Facility, a 65MW/260MWh BESS project. This project marks Georgia Power's first build-own-operate (BOO) battery asset, approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission in 2021. Georgia Power plans to own and operate additional battery storage capacity, including a second phase expansion.

We are pleased to share that we have signed an agreement extension until 2030 with Carnival Corporation to the performance based agreement that has been in place since 2017.

The agreement covers maintenance, technical support, optimisation and fuel saving solutions for 57 cruise ships within the global Carnival Corporation fleet. By optimising the performance and efficiency of the ship's Wärtsilä engines, fuel consumption is reduced, which in turn lowers greenhouse gas emission levels.
