We are delighted to announce that Mathilda Strom has joined our team as Chief Commercial Officer. Mathilda is an experienced entrepreneur who brings nearly 20 years’ experience in building category-defining businesses worldwide. As co-founder of BIMA, the leading microinsurance and digital health player in emerging markets, she helped to redefine how low- and middle-income families access financial and health services using mobile technology. She drove the business through market launches in 23 countries and built deep, long-term partnerships with some of the world's largest mobile operators and insurers, including Telefonica, Orange, Vodafone, Allianz and Prudential. She has also served as a director on multiple boards, including for a renewable energy company in Africa. Recognized as one of the top 50 female entrepreneurs to watch and as one of the top 10 future women leaders in Sweden, Mathilda's deep experience in creating new markets in insurance and building high growth, high impact businesses will be a vital asset to CarbonPool’s future growth.

Beat brings a wealth of experience in underwriting, risk modelling and product development, having worked in the re-/insurance market for the last 20 years. Beat started his career as a forestry engineer and quickly moved into agricultural and natural catastrophe underwriting, a field in which he gained significant experience at Partner Re, Allianz, and DEVK Re. He also served as the global head of agriculture reinsurance for AXA XL. Beat's deep expertise and proven track record of building global underwriting teams and diverse reinsurance portfolios, paired with best-in class risk models, will be invaluable to our clients and to our risk-first approach to carbon dioxide removal insurance underwriting.
