The OIV is participating in the Mediterranean Regional Conference of the 4p1000 Initiative , taking place in Rabat, Morocco, from 21 to 23 October. John Barker, Director General of the OIV, sent a video message to the participants, reaffirming the organisation's commitment to the sustainable management of wine-growing soils. The OIV is also organising a session on the issues and challenges facing wine-growing soils. The session will be chaired by Alejandro Fuentes Espinoza , OIV's Economy and Law head of Unit and a member of the 4 per 1000 Scientific Committee. Speakers will include Matthieu Dubernet, Chairman of Laboratoires Dubernet, Ramzi Belkodja, Production Health and Plant Protection department coordinator of the CIHEAM Zaragoza, and Enrico Battiston , OIV's Viticulture Head of Unit.
