It has license agreements with Pulmokine, Inc. to develop and commercialize GB002 and related backup compounds; and Aerpio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to develop and commercialize GB004 and related compounds. The company was formerly known as FSG, Bio, Inc. and changed its name to Gossamer Bio, Inc. in 2017. Gossamer Bio, Inc. was incorporated in 2015 and is headquartered in San Diego, California.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (#PAH) is a rare disease affecting around 1 in 100,000 people and is more common in women. 

It is a subgroup of pulmonary hypertension (#PH) occurring when the small arteries in the lungs become thickened and narrowed, causing pressure in those arteries to build up. This can damage the heart and cause symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, and lightheadedness. 

Because PAH is so rare, it is important to increase awareness to help people spot the signs of the condition.
