The Engineered Materials segment offers stretch and shrink, converter, food and consumer, and agriculture films, as well as institutional can liners and retail bags. The Health, Hygiene & Specialties segment provides healthcare, hygiene, specialties, and tapes. Berry Global Group, Inc. sells its products through direct sales force of professionals and distributors in the United States, Canada, Europe, and internationally. The company was formerly known as Berry Plastics Group, Inc. and changed its name to Berry Global Group, Inc. in April 2017. Berry Global Group, Inc. was founded in 1967 and is based in Evansville, Indiana.

Appreciate this timely and comprehensive report from our partner, The Recycling Partnership, highlighting gaps in the U.S. residential recycling system that prevent America from achieving the tremendous environmental and economic benefits of #recycling. The reports lays out 5 requirements of an effective recycling system, including packaging recyclability, recycling access, recycling engagement, processing and sortation, end markets, and residential recycling rates.

As a vertically integrated, global plastics leader and contributor to The Recycling Partnership, our company is supporting all of these aspects. But improving the #recyclability of packaging is our primary means of improving product #circularity. In 2023, 86% of our products were designed for recycling as a result of hard work across our divisions to eliminate non-recyclable packaging that includes colored plastic, carbon black, mixed materials, and more.

We are collaborating across the plastics value chain to achieve #MoreTogether. In order to meet our goal of 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable fast-moving consumer packaging by 2025, we are also investing in improving recycling infrastructure and growing our manufacturing and end-use processing capabilities. We also support recycled content mandates and Extended Producer Responsibility, or #EPR, policies that provide dedicated funding for recycling.

As this new report points out, these types of solutions at scale – combined with targeted recycling engagement and behavior interventions – can close current gaps and improve the entire recycling system.
