As of December 31, 2021, the company had a fleet of 173 Airbus single-aisle aircraft. It sells tickets through its call centers and airport ticket counters, as well as online through spirit.com; and through various third parties, including online, traditional travel agents, and electronic global distribution systems. The company was formerly known as Clippert Trucking Company and changed its name to Spirit Airlines, Inc. in 1992. Spirit Airlines, Inc. was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Miramar, Florida.

Spirit Airlines is a low-cost carrier that provides air transportation services in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

We first landed in Los Angeles 25 years ago, and what a journey it has been! 🛬

We've soared to become one of the largest low-fare airlines at Los Angeles World Airports (LAX) thanks to our awesome Guests and Team Members. Today, we're proud to serve LAX with 40 nonstop flights to 25 fantastic destinations every day. 

In honor of this milestone, the Spirit Charitable Foundation made a donation to TreePeople, a nonprofit dedicated to support sustainable urban ecosystems through education and community action, and advocacy. 🌳
