In 2023 Journal of National Cancer Institute (NCI), American Cancer Society researchers found that delayed care due to lack of transportation and lodging is associated with increased emergency room use and mortality risk among adults with and without cancer history. ACS awards transportation grants to 500 health systems and 30 Hope Lodges provide patients and caregivers free lodging and community.
