Miami Homes For All&#39;s mission is to ensure that all Miami-Dade residents have a safe, affordable place to call home. We are especially concerned with households earning 80% of area median income or less.

Tonight at 7pm is the Miami screening of Fault Lines, a documentary about the housing crisis in America told through the lens of what is happening in its historic epicenter, San Francisco. Brick City TV Miami joins San Fran, DC, Phoenix, Sacramento, and Los Angeles in hosting screenings, where the goal is to foster dialogue and engagement around the issue, ultimately leading to progress. Former Mayor of Santa Monica Gleam Davis said it best: "Fault Lines is set in the Bay Area, but it carries a warning for every city in the country. If you want to understand the real forces driving the housing crisis, you need to watch this film." The screening of the film will be at the Koubek Center on the evening of Nov. 13th. The film's director, Yoav Attias, is based in Miami and will be with us for a brief reception before the film and a short panel discussion afterward including our Deputy Director, Audrey Aradanas . We had a special session of The Housing Nexus on October 24th to close out the year. Huge thanks to Mayor Daniella Levine Cava for the motivating opening remarks and to our partners Catalyst Miami and Miami Workers Center for teaming up with us to bring this event to life. 🔥🧡 This series of gatherings gave us the opportunity to brainstorm actionable solutions and build coalition on linked issues in our County with new and familiar faces. Today is Homeless Awareness Day, and The Children’s Trust recognizes the impactful work of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust and Miami Homes For All in South Florida. Since 2012, the Homeless Trust has led this event, now the largest single-day awareness campaign on homelessness in the U.S. It’s a day to raise awareness and support children and families experiencing homelessness. Last week, our executive director Annie Lord was honored with the Ruth Shack Leadership Award by the The Miami Foundation for her years of service addressing greater Miami's housing crisis while at Miami Homes For All. She joins an astounding group of past awardees ( Vance Aloupis Felecia Hatcher Marlon Hill Rebecca Fishman Lipsey Chad Bernstein Amy Rosenberg and other incredible folks!) who have followed Ruth's example in supporting everyone's ability to thrive in Miami even as we grow. Accepting the award, she asked the audience to remember: "Miami has hustle...But Miami doesn't work if the people that make it run can't afford to live here. We have to invest public resources in the affordable housing that we need."

Miami Homes For All backbones the Greater Miami Housing Alliance (GMHA), a coalition of over 100 active members, including residents, service providers, advocacy groups, government departments, housing providers, developers, and more. GMHA has two strategic priorities to advance policies for equitable affordable housing in 2024-2025: -Build or preserve more, safe affordable housing. -Prevent displacement and reduce homelessness.
