The devolved government for Scotland is responsible for matters that are devolved from Westminster. Areas of responsibility include the economy, health, education, justice, rural affairs, environment, and transport.

Public Health Minister Jenni Minto has said we will collaborate across the four nations on a revised Tobacco and Vaping Bill to strengthen controls. 

The Bill was contained in the legislative programme outlined during the King’s Speech and will require Scottish Parliament consent.

The Scottish Government Resilience Room (SGORR) has activated in response to worldwide IT issues.

We are aware of impacts at Edinburgh Airport. We urge those travelling today to check with their operator.

SGORR will continue to liaise with partners and Ministers will be kept updated.

We are assessing any potential impacts across Scotland.

There has been a minimal impact on NHS services. Patients should continue to attend all appointments as planned.

A limited number of UK rail operators have been impacted by the worldwide IT outage.

ScotRail, the Caledonian Sleeper service and Network Rail are currently unaffected.

We are extending support to close the gender gap and attract the next generation of entrepreneurs.
 
Up to £2.6 million is being invested in initiatives to make it easier for women and people from all backgrounds to start a business.

Significant additional Scottish Government funding will be provided to Ferguson Marine Port Glasgow, subject to final legal and financial analysis.

Up to £14.2 million would be invested over two years in actions to improve productivity, including repairing or renewing equipment and reconfiguring the yard.

Talks are also at an advanced stage about FMPG securing further work from BAE Systems on the Type 36 Frigate programme.

£41.7 million to decarbonise Scotland's bus travel.

First Minister John Swinney visited Stagecoach to make the funding announcement.

It will support the delivery of 252 new electric buses and a Scotland-wide charging network for buses, coaches and HGVs.
