Simon Reeve’s BBC This World documentary on the tea trail of East Africa is a stark reminder of the challenges women on tea plantations endure on a daily basis. One worker's words were particularly haunting: "Don't worry about our suffering; we know that when you buy our tea, we get our wages. If you stop, we suffer". This is why Typhoo has been overhauled from top to bottom, so that each bag sold takes us a step closer to our mission: to end violence against women on tea plantations. Introducing Typhoo's Fear Free Council (FFC). A milestone towards our mission to end violence against women on tea plantations. The Fear Free Council, comprised of representatives from THIRST , Women Working Worldwide and T-Evolve Limited is a governance body with the directive to hold Typhoo accountable on our mission to prevent and address Gender Based Violence and Harassment (GBVH) within our black tea supply chain. It plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of Typhoo's Fear Free approach, ensuring that Typhoo’s commitment to the safety of the women working in tea-growing communities is upheld with rigour and transparency. #teamaderight #FearFreeTea
