Ukrainian President Zelenskiy sanctioned 37 Russian groups and 108 people, including a former Prime Minister and a former Education Minister, for their involvement in the abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children from occupied territories. The sanctions aim to hold those responsible for war crimes accountable and pressure Russia. The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant against President Vladimir Putin and Lvova-Belova, accusing them of war crimes related to the deportation of children. Yale University published research stating that over 2,400 children have been taken to 13 facilities across Belarus, coordinated between Putin and Lukashenko. Efforts are underway to repatriate an orphan from Mariupol deported to Russia to prevent his involuntary military service.
