Today, Aleph Farms is proud to announce that Ministry of Health Israel has issued regulatory approval for Aleph Cuts, the world’s first cultivated beef steaks. The approval was delivered in the form of a “No Questions” letter, in which Israel’s Ministry of Health confirms its acceptance of Aleph Farms’ conclusion that Aleph Cuts are safe to eat.

The approval grants us permission to produce and market our product in Israel, subject to specific directions for labeling and marketing provided by Israel’s Ministry of Health, and the completion of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspection for our pilot production facility. Once these requirements are fulfilled, we will introduce Aleph Cuts to diners, offering exclusive tasting experiences curated in collaboration with select partners.

Amidst truly challenging times in Israel and around the world, we do not approach this moment with exuberance. Tell your leaders to invest in making food systems more secure, resilient and sustainable. Following an extensive four-year investigation, the 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐅𝐒𝐄𝐂) has released a report that details how much value we lose due to food system flaws and also how much value we can create by making the necessary changes.
 
According to the report, we have a lot to gain by taking proper action and a lot to keep losing by not doing anything. 
 
Food systems’ cumulative negative impact in terms of human suffering and planetary harm amounts to approximately 15 trillion (!) USD every year. This is more than the entire positive value that food systems contribute to global GDP.
 
The report also shows that the global economy stands to gain between 5 and 10 trillion USD per year (4-8% of global GDP in 2020) by achieving food system transformation.
