If approved, the settlement will help JCP&L invest in enhancements that further strengthen infrastructure to benefit our customers while allowing us to continue restoration efforts to customers following storms and severe weather. As the 1-year anniversary of the train derailment in #EastPalestine approaches, FirstEnergy engineers are looking back on something that went right that day. 

Thankfully, the company had already installed new #smartgrid technology in the area. As John Shuman explains, it allowed our system operators to meet the needs of first responders quickly, prevented line crews from having to enter the danger zone and saved hundreds of customers from an outage that day.
