Our Managing Partner, Khanh Tran, recently participated in a panel discussion as part of the “Future of Fintech in Vietnam” event hosted by Plug and Play APAC

The discussion touched on the current state, latest trends, future growth potential and scalability of the Fintech in Vietnam. Here are some key takeaways:

- Cashless has become a big agenda for the market and the government. This opens up opportunities for every player to drive this agenda together.
- Open banking will have huge growth potential in this part of the world (SEA)
- The first generation of fintech in Vietnam did a great job at building infrastructure to move money around. Now, we need to focus more on how money can flow smarter and capture higher value. 
- Key challenges for fintech include: aligning with legal frameworks, growing customer awareness, gaining foundational trust from users.
- Partnership and open innovations are usually a win-win, but friction can happen on the execution level between startups and big corps.
